Lt. Terence Hugo

Lt. Terence Hugo, formerly of the Royal Scots, served with No.6 Commando from , at least, 8th May 1944. However, he was held in the UK with the 1st line reserves and didn’t land on D-Day itself, finally making it to the Commando lines (along with Lt. Clark and ORs) on 9th June 1944. Lt. Hugo was then assigned to No.1 Troop of No.6 Commando.

Lt. Terence Hugo was a light heavyweight boxing champion, who represented the Commando in Boxing Tournaments to great success.

Terence was an extremely popular sub-altern, who was KIA on 30th January 1945 , aged just 25 years. He was the son of Capt. James William Hugo, Royal Artillery, and Grace Lily Hugo, of Lanark.

Terence was laid to rest in Nederweert War Cemetery ( Limburg , Netherlands ). Grave IV.E.9.
